This is the MCAL kick off to Track season! All MCAL teams send athletes to this meet to start the season off. This is the perfect chance to dust off cobwebs, feel out your first meet, and check out all the other great athletes in MCALs.
Use the button below to take you to the athlete registration for this meet. Each athlete must fill out this form and pick at least 2, max 4 events for this meet.
This is Redwoods all team, all day meet. Athletes arrive at 8am. 8:15 we run a team warm up lap, partner leg swings, do mobility drills on the green and a captain lead stretching circle. At 8:30 we gather for a ceremony honoring Bill Taylor and this year, the MCAL starter Brendan O'Leary. There is also a pigeon release!
Athletes learn time management, responsibility and competition at this meet. You are responsible for signing in at your field events at the start of the day and making sure you balance your field and track events. You need to be listening to announcements and report at all call times for track events.
You can not have any electronics any where but in the bleachers.
You must be listening and follow all directions given.
You need to be extremely respectful to all coaches, officials and other athletes.
Redwood's goal is to win the sportsmanship award this season, (along with the MCAL titles), cheer on other teams, make friends at events and on line, then COMPETE with them.
