RHS vs MC
Saturday 4/3
From MC Coaches:
We are looking forward to running a safe and fun meet. Here are details. Please help us emphasize the covid-safe protocols with your parents and athletes! First everyone must wear a mask at all times except for runners during competition. Athletes and parents will enter the football field via the gate by the baseball field. We would like everyone to park in the center of the lot, if possible, since the course run follows the fencing along the baseball and football fields.
Designated Athlete and parent areas
We have two areas for teams:
MC area – behind the goal post; finish side (east) of the field.
Redwood area – behind the goal post start side (west) of the field
We request that all parents who are not working the meet watch in the stands.
The MC stands, finish side, and Redwood, start side.
The athletes come through this area multiple times so watching this XC meet from the stands is the best place!
Please help us communicate that parents should not gather with others outside of their household while watching the meet.
Spectators
Spectators are allowed if they live in the same household as the athletes. We ask that all spectators remain in the stands, socially distanced.
Covid Safety Monitors
We will have 1 - 2 safety monitors. This is a Tam District requirement for events. The safety monitors will make sure that people aren’t congregating, make sure people are wearing masks and being safe in their distancing. Please tell your athletes and parents that we are required to have safety monitors doing this job to help keep the event safe and keep the opportunity to continue to have on-campus events.
Athlete Numbering system.
Each athlete will need to write their MCAL XC number on their right shoulder with a sharpie. Finish line volunteers will record finish results by looking at their shoulder and writing down this number.
Athletic Trainer.
An Athletic Trainer will be at the meet.
Course. 2.4 miles.
The course is four loops on campus. (map BELOW)
Start: on Field.
Start is on the west end goal line
Run diagonally across the field to gate at northeast corner of field; toward church. Exit track and run counterclockwise loop around campus. When entering track at the end of laps one, two, and three, run directly across the field to the gate by the church. At the end of lap four run straight down the track home stretch and finish at the track finish line.
