Sprint country 2021
Sprint Country is a chance for Sprinters, Jumpers and Thrower's who don't compete in a Fall sport to train with their team and stay in shape, only returning Track and Field athletes can train with SC. Athlete's will formally join the Cross Country Team and train at the same times the XC team but with different workouts. Sprint Country athletes will participate in the Stinson Beach Relays. Athletes will also compete in various time trials throughout season. Athletes will train Monday, Tuesday & Thursday after school and Wednesday before school and can attend Monday morning swim. Being on the team is a commitment and practice attendance is mandatory.
Season Dates:
August 9th - Nov. 5th.
Athletes will do sprint, strength, power, mobility, and base building workouts throughout the season.
Athletes to do before Tryouts / Practice:
1) Complete all steps on HomeCampus through the school, including doctors physical. You can NOT practice without a complete physical.
2) Text the phone number - 81010 with the following codes as the message (include the @ symbol)
XC Team: @RedwoodXC
Sprint Country: @SprintYO
Parents:
3) Create an XCStats Account to log any excused missed practices, like for a doctors appointment. Our team code is " 12345! "
4) Attendance: google form scanned at practice
5) Get a watch! You need to wear a watch with a stop watch timer at every practice. This does not need to be anything fancy a cheap watch from CVS/amazon will do great.
6) Check your shoes! Athletes usually need a new pair each competition season to stay uninjured. A pair of shoes with less than 200-500 miles on them are essential to preventing injuries. See the parent info. page for more shoe information.
